Global Functioning and Personal Satisfaction Through the Multimodel Social Intervention in Programma 2000

Objective: The aim is to describe the different dimensions of the psychosocial treatment and the synergy between non-therapeutic groups and individual vocational support, in an early intervention program in Milan, Programma 2000. There are actually organized several activities such as: attending classes of scholastic support for groups or for a single patient; helping in seeking employment; promoting socialization and interaction with sports and entertainments. The effectiveness of treatment is also verified as regards the improvement of social functioning, the maintenance of an adaptive and significant social role and a higher level of satisfaction in quality of life. Method: 290 patients with a diagnosis of psychosis or at risk of developing a psychosis, followed by Programma 2000, are engaged in a specific psychosocial treatment from 1999 to 2015. They are analyzed three year later using social items of BPRS, HoNOS, DAS, GAF, SATisfation Profile. Results are compared with the functional outcomes (role changes, educational achievements) and socio-demographic data. Results: Patients show a better social functioning, an increased satisfaction and quality of life compared to the admission. Summarizing, patients’ Personal Satisfation in life’s quality, indeed, grows from an average of 51,2 shown ad admission, to an average of 73. Also GAF values demonstrate an increased global functionality, from 49,9 to 71. Moreover,the other scores and the relevant achievements in life are described (school, work, personal relationships)
